Product Manager – Ophthalmology to join our UK team.
This role will play a pivotal part in the successful growth of the brand and the expansion of our ophthalmology portfolio.
The successful candidate will act as the local brand leader, driving commercial excellence, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to maximize business performance and patient impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Leadership & Business Ownership
- Act as the local brand lead and primary point of reference for the brand within the UK organization.
- Take full ownership of the local brand strategy and ensure effective execution of commercial initiatives aligned with European objectives.
- Drive product performance through rigorous execution, continuous monitoring of KPIs, and proactive identification of growth opportunities.
- Maintain a strong focus on business performance, profitability, and ROI while ensuring sustainable brand growth .
- Provide regular updates and business insights to European leadership teams, ensuring alignment between local execution and corporate strategy.
- Marketing & Promotional Activities
- Develop and implement promotional campaigns and materials, ensuring compliance with local regulations, ABPI requirements, and corporate guidelines.
- Design and execute omnichannel marketing initiatives to maximize customer engagement and brand impact.
- Monitor campaign performance and implement continuous improvements based on customer insights and market dynamics.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and other internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of local business plans.
- Influence and support commercial teams without direct reporting authority to ensure strategic priorities are translated into customer-facing activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and relevant professional associations.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen scientific exchange and peer-to-peer engagement within the ophthalmology community.
- Serve as a trusted local expert and ambassador for the Brand.
- Market Insights & Strategic Planning
- Develop the local brand strategy and annual brand plan in alignment with European strategic priorities.
- Adapt European initiatives and campaigns to the specific needs of the UK market.
- Identify key market opportunities and challenges to support successful execution of the local business plan.
- Event Management
- Plan, manage, and execute congresses, symposia, advisory boards, educational programs, and promotional meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical product management, brand management, or commercial marketing roles.
- Strong ophthalmology experience is required, with preference given to candidates with expertise in
Dry Eye Disease, Ocular Surface Disease, or related therapeutic areas .
- Demonstrated experience driving product growth within a competitive pharmaceutical environment.
- Experience working within international or matrix organizations, including regular interaction with EU headquarters.
- Strong understanding of the UK healthcare system, ophthalmology market, and relevant stakeholder landscape.
- Experience working closely with field force and supporting commercial excellence initiatives.
