Summary

We are looking for a Production Accountant to join our Operations team, and assist the Producers/Series Production teams with managing series budgets and cost reports. Overseeing a Finance Assistant with daily transaction processing, and leading on key accounting processes such as payroll, liaising with financiers and submitting tax relief claims, the Production Accountant will report into the studio’s overall Business Operations Manager. There may be some additional administrative duties outside of our series work expected within this role.

Responsibilities

  • Raise and send sales invoices to clients/financing partners

  • Manage series cash flows

  • Run monthly payroll

  • Run bi-weekly supplier and freelancer payment runs

  • Respond to client and contractor queries

  • Assist the Series Producer/Production Manager with budget and forecast reporting

  • Review and set pay bandings for series alongside Series Producer/Production Manager

  • Arrange series production insurances

  • Assist the Business Operations Manager with Health & Safety Risk Assessments

  • Liaise with external accountants for year end account and corporation tax submissions for each production SPV

  • BFI Animation Production Cultural test submissions and initial tax relief calculations

  • Deliver monthly management account reports for series productions

  • Quarterly VAT submissions

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Experience of working in Xero or other similar accountancy packages.

  • Experience of working in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

  • Knowledge of animation production is a plus.

  • Discretion – able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Studying towards an accountancy qualification, e.g. CIMA, ACCA
