We're now seeking a Development Manager to lead the delivery of innovative, secure, and scalable software solutions that support our mission: managing sustainability every day to educate and influence change.
About the Role
As Development Manager, you'll lead cross-functional teams of developers, QA engineers, and architects both in-house and outsourced across multiple time zones. You'll play a key role in shaping the product roadmap, balancing feature development with bug fixes and technical debt, and making architectural decisions that align with our strategic goals. As the division's technical leader, you'll champion continuous improvement through Agile and DevOps practices, ensuring our platform evolves effectively and takes full advantage of emerging cloud technologies.
What You'll Deliver
- Lead and mentor high-performing development teams including working with outsourcing partners to augment the team.
- Oversee multiple concurrent software projects from planning to deployment.
- Champion Agile and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and test automation.
- Guide architectural decisions and enforce coding standards.
- Manage team performance, recruitment, and professional development.
- Report on project status, risks, and resource utilization to senior stakeholders.
Your Experience
- Proven leadership of cross-functional Agile teams across dev, QA, DevOps, and experience of implementing new technologies and ways of working in existing products and teams.
- Strong technical background in Microsoft stack (.NET Core, Azure, SQL Server).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Azure DevOps, GitHub).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at a range of levels including technical and non-technical staff.
- A passion for innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with React, NodeJS, Knockout, PHP.
- Knowledge of microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless architecture.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance monitoring tools.
