SumUp's Talent Acquisition team is a globally distributed group of specialists who care deeply about the quality of every hire — and the experience of every candidate. Within the team, this role is primarily focused on one of SumUp's most strategically important product areas: Consumer. The Consumer tribe is scaling fast, with roles across Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and GTM — UK and Germany-based, all technically complex, and all critical to SumUp's ambition to become a leading financial services platform for small businesses. Beyond Consumer, you'll also absorb hiring demand from other tech areas, prioritised in collaboration with the TA Lead. This is a specialist partnership role that requires deep market knowledge, strong stakeholder craft, and the ability to run a high-quality, high-velocity hiring process — while simultaneously building SumUp's engineering employer brand in one of the world's most competitive tech talent markets.
What you’ll do
- Own the end-to-end hiring funnel for the Consumer tribe — from intake and scorecard design through to offer management — running a structured, predictable process with clear SLAs at every stage.
- Build and manage active pipelines across Engineering, Product, Design, and Data roles, maintaining a consistently high hiring bar regardless of volume pressure.
- Act as SumUp's primary on-the-ground engineering TA presence in London — engaging the local tech community through events, partnerships, and talent attraction initiatives that build long-term pipeline value.
- Use funnel data and hiring metrics to surface blockers, guide prioritisation decisions, and provide stakeholders with clear, honest pipeline updates.
- Partner closely with Consumer leadership and hiring managers to build trusted, embedded relationships — bringing market insight and structured thinking to every conversation.
You'll be great for this role if…
- Strong experience recruiting for Engineering, Product, and Design roles in a scale-up or high-growth environment, with a track record of running structured, high-quality hiring processes at pace.
- Proven ability to design and implement scorecards, structured interview loops, and calibration frameworks that hold the hiring bar without slowing delivery.
- Comfort using funnel data and recruiting metrics to identify what's working, what isn't, and where to redirect effort — with the confidence to share that clearly with stakeholders.
- Experience building or contributing to employer brand and community initiatives in competitive tech markets, whether through events, content, sourcing partnerships, or talent attraction campaigns.
- Fluency in the London and UK engineering talent landscape, with an understanding of fintech or consumer product talent pools and what it takes to attract strong passive candidates in this market.
Please note: We're unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. You’ll need the right to work in the UK to be considered.
