The Central Brand & Marketing team is responsible for shaping how the world sees SumUp — building a brand that resonates with both small business owners and the consumers who interact with them every day. This role will transform how we show up on social media, turning brand strategy into daily engagement and measurable growth. This role leads the social media function across Europe, building the editorial engine, influencer strategy, and community presence that will define SumUp's voice online.
What you'll do:
- Own and evolve SumUp's social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, shifting from reactive content to a channel-native, always-on editorial approach.
- Build and run the social media operating system — the ways of working, production rhythms, and cross-functional processes that connect brand, creative, PR, paid social, and campaigns into a coherent content engine.
- Develop and implement a scalable influencer and creator strategy, covering how we identify, recruit, and manage both creators within the SumUp ecosystem and external talent.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small social media team, setting a higher creative bar and building the team's channel expertise and output quality.
- Own social media reporting and performance benchmarking, translating data into clear insights and strategic decisions that keep the team focused on what's working.
What we're looking for:
- Proven track record building and executing social media strategies that drive brand growth across multiple countries and platforms, with deep, channel-native understanding — particularly of TikTok culture and formats.
- Experience creating scalable social frameworks, editorial planning processes, and content production systems in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience managing and developing social media teams or talent, including vendors and external creators.
- Analytical mindset to track performance, report on results, manage budgets, and make data-informed decisions.
- Fluency in video and photo editing tools (Adobe, Canva, or similar), social media management platforms, and an active, genuine presence on social media yourself.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to bring structure and stakeholder alignment to a new way of working, without losing creative momentum.
Why you should join SumUp:
- Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our central Covent Garden location.
- Office‑first setup.
- Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced.
- Enrollment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success.
- Generous time off: enjoy 28 days of paid leave, plus bank holidays and special leaves.
- A dedicated annual L&D budget for attending conferences and/or advancing your career through further education.
- Private health insurance, including optical and dental.
- Salary‑sacrifice commuter benefits via Gogeta.
- Retirement scheme (SumUp matches 7% when you contribute 5%).
- Life insurance from MetLife for 2× your salary.
- Break4me: 1‑month sabbatical after 3 years of service.
- Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the SumUp team.
