Head of Content — Social & Digital

We are looking for a senior Head of Content to take full ownership of social content strategy for a fast-growing digital publisher with an ambitious growth agenda across the UK and US.

This role sits at the intersection of editorial thinking, creative direction and performance-led social strategy.

The role

Content strategy and creative direction are the foundation.

You will set the editorial vision, shape distinctive formats and recurring series, and ensure every piece of content serves a clear purpose within the wider growth agenda.

  • Own the end-to-end social content strategy across video, written and audio formats
  • Develop original formats and recurring series that build consistent audience habits over time
  • Shape a clear editorial voice and visual identity that distinguishes the brand across every platform
  • Translate expertise and point of view into content that is platform-native and genuinely compelling
  • Stay close to trends and platform behaviour, making smart decisions quickly

Audience growth sits at the heart of what we are trying to achieve. You will design channel-specific strategies, lead experimentation and use performance data to adapt quickly.

  • Build and execute audience growth strategies across Linked In, Instagram, Tik Tok and You Tube
  • Lead structured content experimentation across formats, hooks and narrative structures
  • Analyse performance data and translate findings into clear changes to strategy
  • Use paid amplification strategically alongside organic content
  • Identify emerging platforms early and make considered decisions about where to invest

Podcast strategy is a significant part of the remit. The podcast should function as a content engine, not a standalone output.

  • Own the podcast roadmap from concept and format development through to distribution and performance
  • Shape episode themes, guest strategy and narrative structures to build authority and audience
  • Ensure every episode generates a full suite of short-form social content
  • Integrate podcast performance into the wider content strategy continuously

Content production and delivery are where strategy becomes reality.

  • Build and manage a lean, high-output content operation with clear workflows and schedules
  • Plan filming days, recording schedules and publishing calendars across all formats
  • Brief, direct and manage editors, videographers, producers and freelancers
  • Maintain quality control from concept through to final publish
  • What we are looking for
  • A senior content leader with strong creative instinct and a track record of building engaged audiences at scale
  • Deep knowledge of platform behaviour across Linked In, Instagram, Tik Tok and You Tube
  • Experience leading the full content lifecycle from strategy and creative direction through to production and performance
  • Proven podcast experience as part of a broader content and distribution strategy
  • Highly organised, capable of managing multiple workstreams while maintaining creative standards
  • Comfortable working closely with senior leadership, shaping ideas as well as executing them
