- UI/UX Artist at Atomhawk
Fixed Term contract (1 year FTC in the first instance to cover upcoming projects).
Preference for hybrid working from our Newcastle studio (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays in-studio) remote working can also be considered in the UK.
As UI/UX Artist at Atomhawk , you’ll design intuitive and engaging user interfaces for AAA games and work with a variety of clients across the video game and entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design clear, intuitive user interfaces for PC and console, balancing usability, functionality, and visual polish.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to explore ideas and communicate design intent.
- Produce polished UI assets, including icons, menus, and HUD elements, that support and enhance the player experience.
- Work closely with game designers, artists, and engineers to bring UI into the game engine and ensure it works well in context.
- Refine and iterate on designs based on feedback from the team, playtest insights, and UX best practices.
- Help maintain a consistent visual language and user experience across screens, features, and platforms.
- Keep up to date with relevant UI/UX trends, tools, and workflows.
Requirements
- A portfolio showing experience as a UI/UX Artist in game development.
- Experience working with Unreal, Unity, or in-house engines implementing menus, HUDs, and other UI components.
- Strong proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- A solid understanding of UX principles, usability, accessibility, and player-centred design.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with different disciplines.
