About Summus Sports Group
Summus Sports Group is a full-service sports marketing agency specialising in athlete management, digital sports marketing, and athlete advocacy. We are an athlete-first agency built to support growth and development both on the field and beyond. We believe in the power of sport to change the world. Our mission is to connect athletes, fans, and communities by aligning the world’s greatest talent with purposeful and innovative causes and brands. We are now expanding our focus to support athletes who are ready to use their platforms for the most urgent challenge of our time: climate action.
About the Role
We are looking for a creative, purpose-driven Content Creator who sits at the intersection of sport and sustainability. This is a specialist storytelling role designed to support athletes who are passionate about the planet. You won't just be capturing highlights; you will be helping athletes translate complex climate issues into engaging, authentic, and "social-first" narratives. You will thrive on finding the human stories behind environmental advocacy, making sustainability accessible, cool, and actionable for sports fans globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Purposeful Storytelling: Create high-impact, social-first video content that highlights an athlete's commitment to climate action and sustainability.
- Channel Management: Support and bring to life the social media calendars of specific, purpose-led athletes, ensuring a consistent and authentic voice.
- On-the-Ground Production: Capture and edit content on-site at sporting events, training sessions, and environmental projects (e.g., carbon restoration sites, community gardens, or sustainable brand launches).
- Trend Adaptation: Identify emerging digital trends and pivot them to serve climate-focused messaging without losing the "sporting" edge.
- Athlete Collaboration: Work 1-on-1 with athletes to build their confidence as advocates, helping them articulate their "why" regarding climate change.
- Educational Content: Simplify environmental data into digestible, visual assets (Reels, TikToks, Carousels) that educate fans without being "preachy."
- Impact Tracking: Monitor content performance to understand what drives the most engagement and real-world sentiment change around sustainability.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 1–3 years of experience in content creation, social media, or digital marketing.
- Strong Video Skills: Proficiency in mobile and desktop editing (CapCut, Premiere Pro, etc.) for high-quality, fast-turnaround social content.
- Sustainability Literacy: A genuine interest in climate change, environmental justice, or sustainable living. You should know your "net-zero" from your "greenwashing."
- Sports Knowledge: A deep passion for the sporting landscape and an understanding of athlete-fan dynamics.
- Confidence: Ability to work directly with high-profile athletes and stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel nationally and internationally and work non-traditional hours (weekends/evenings) to follow the sporting calendar.
- Experience working with non-profits, NGOs, or B-Corp brands.
- Graphic design or motion graphics skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Photography and photo editing skills.
- Knowledge of the "Sport for Development" or "Sport Ecology" sectors.
What We’re Looking For
This is the perfect role for a storyteller who wants their work to matter. You are someone who believes that a locker room interview or a training montage can be a gateway to a bigger conversation about protecting the places we play. This isn’t a standard 9-to-5. It requires a "nimble" creator who can jump from a muddy rugby pitch to a sustainability summit without missing a beat. If you are a creative powerhouse who wants to help athletes lead the green revolution, we’d love to hear from you.
