The role offers a varied mix of rural estate management, landlord and tenant work, rent reviews, agricultural grants and specialist rural property projects, alongside plenty of direct client contact.

As Land Agent, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of rural estates and act as a key point of contact for landlords, tenants and clients:

  • Managing a portfolio of rural estates and dealing directly with landlords and tenants.
  • Handling day-to-day rural estate management matters and resolving queries efficiently.
  • Managing rent collection and arrears, ensuring outstanding payments are followed up.
  • Advising clients on agricultural and rural government grant schemes.
  • Liaising with organisations including the Rural Payments Agency and Natural England.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate land and property mapping using Pro Map, LandApp or similar software.
  • Supporting client accounts, including reviewing statements, invoices and bills and assisting with reporting.
  • Liaising with contractors regarding repairs and maintenance across rural estates.
  • Supporting and project managing a variety of specialist and ad hoc rural property projects.
  • Providing practical and professional advice to clients on land and rural estate management.

You will ideally have experience within land agency, rural surveying, agricultural property or rural estate management, with a good understanding of landlord and tenant matters, rent reviews and the practical management of rural estates.

Key Skills:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you will regularly work with landlords, tenants, contractors, clients and external organisations.
  • Experience as a Land Agent, Rural Surveyor or in a closely related rural property role.
  • Experience working with rural estates, agricultural property and/or land management.
  • Ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of projects.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience dealing with the Rural Payments Agency and/or Natural England.
  • Experience using Pro Map, LandApp or similar mapping software.
  • Rural estate management and maintenance experience.
  • Previous experience within a professional property or surveying environment.
  • Good knowledge of the local rural property market.

You will have genuine responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to manage your own portfolio, build long-term client relationships and gain exposure to a broad range of rural property and agricultural projects.

If you're an RICS-qualified Land Agent looking for a varied role with autonomy, client exposure and genuine scope for career development, we'd love to hear from you.
