We’re working with a well-established and forward-thinking organisation that is looking to recruit an experienced Field-Based IT Field Installations Engineer to deliver top-tier support and installations across various UK sites.
Key Responsibilities:- IT Installations & On-Site Support: Travel to project sites and client offices to install, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of IT systems, including AV setups and video conferencing platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
- Hardware Setup & Maintenance: Install and maintain IT hardware such as network cabinets, cabling, access points, printers, and plotters.
- Network Support: Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless network connectivity issues and ensure stable, secure connections.
- Incident Management: Prioritise and resolve support tickets following escalation procedures where required.
- Asset Tracking & Inventory: Maintain up-to-date records of hardware in the field and support procurement and audits.
- Documentation & Reporting: Keep technical documents and site handbooks current; ensure all expense claims are submitted according to company policy.
- Customer Support: Provide a responsive, customer-focused service both onsite and remotely.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal IT teams to resolve complex issues and improve support processes.
- Previous experience in a field-based IT support or IT installations role.
- Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and AV systems.
- Hands-on experience with video conferencing platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Experience with Amazon Chime is an advantage.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities and confidence working independently.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel, especially within the Midlands area.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- The role involves regular travel across the UK, primarily within the Midlands region. A company vehicle and travel expenses are fully covered.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required for urgent tasks or project installations.
