Summit Oaks Hospital, a 126 bed, private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center, has been providing quality health care to adult, child and adolescent northeastern USA residents since 1902. Our Mental Health Associate (MHA) position presents an ideal opportunity for an energetic, motivated individual with prior experience working with patients with behavioral health or addictions diagnosis.
The Mental Health Associate functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling, and monitoring patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on the nursing unit assigned. At present, the nursing units include a 28 bed adult psych unit, a 28 bed adult dual diagnosis, a 22 bed child and adolescent unit, a 24 bed detox unit and a 20 bed rehab unit. Other MHA duties include taking vital signs, conducting educational groups and responding to codes.
This is a part time, night shift position two days a week from 7:00pm - 7:00am with rotating weekends.

Qualifications:
B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting; or two years of experience in a psychiatric setting with evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health preferred. Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred. Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications which will be provided by the Hospital.
