If so, we are looking for an Operations and People Assistant to play a key role in supporting our team and ensuring everything operates seamlessly. This is an exciting opportunity for an Operations and People Assistant to join us on a full‑time hybrid basis. We offer flexible start and finish times as well as having every other Friday off. We trust our people to work flexibly around their lifestyle and family arrangements. Summiteers are asked to attend our office in the C4DI complex in Hull, Fruit Market 2 days per week, the rest of the week can be done from home. For the right candidate, we may also consider greater flexibility around office time.
As our Operations and People Assistant, you will join our Central Services team — the beating heart of the business. It’s where the cogs turn, keeping everything running smoothly and helping to create a positive, supportive environment for our people to thrive. You will provide generalist support to all Summiteers. You will assist in implementing training and development initiatives, and facilitate HR processes, while maintaining information systems and overall employee administration. You will support the wider Summit team across the central functions as required, including Facilities, IT, Health & Safety and the event team.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Supporting teams in nurturing and developing client relationships through ad hoc requests (including areas such as organising client visits and teambuilding, and gift purchases)
- Collaborating with the team to organise group travel
- Collaborating with Client Services Director and Finance Manager on Utilisation Planning and Profitability reporting
- Internal PR
- Compiling information and preparing presentation decks for company Briefings
- Teambuilding for Summit team
- Create job advertisements for junior roles
- Review applications for junior roles and conduct preliminary screening calls
- Share feedback to relevant recruitment leads on suitable candidates and organise interviews
- Manage Applicant Tracking System candidates in line with GDPR
- Run HR Induction for all new starters
- Conduct monthly check-in meetings with new starters to support seamless onboarding process and action any concerns raised with relative line managers
- Assist in organising training and development activities in line with the training strategy
- Manage Summiteers access to E‑Learning platform and enforce completion of outstanding training courses
- Assist the Senior Operations and People Manager with internal projects
- Support HR function by working with wider team to develop impactful HR strategy
- Maintain personnel knowledge to ensure compliance with all current legislation and future changes
- Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Assist the Senior IT and Facilities Manager with support across this function as necessary
- Support with the management and maintenance of Summit office and facilities
What are we looking for?
As the Operations and People Assistant you will have the confidence in communicating effectively with stakeholders across the business as well as the willingness to learn and develop knowledge. Other key attributes and skills include:
- Basic understanding of current employment law/legislation
- Ability to effectively read and interpret information, gather data and present it in a resourceful manner
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages including PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skill
- Strong organisational skills which give the ability to prioritise and plan work activities
- Adaptability and an understanding of the need to work fluidly as circumstances evolve and change within teams
- An ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive issues to support the central teams working directly in these areas
On offer is a salary of £24000-£25199 per annum depending on experience as well as a range of excellent benefits including flexible start and finish times, up to 29 days' holiday per year (plus bank holidays), milestone days off, Bupa health cash plan, life assurance, and Annual Bonus Scheme.
