Company Overview
Summit Hygiene is a leading provider of professional cleaning & hygiene solutions, helping businesses maintain clean, safe, and compliant environments. We work across multiple sectors and pride ourselves on quality service, strong relationships, and consistent growth.
Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and proactive Business Development Executive to support our continued growth by generating new business appointments. This role exists to open doors that aren’t open yet — building a pipeline of new‑business appointments for the BDMs through your own proactive, largely cold outreach. There is a call list, but the list is a starting point, not the job itself: the job is turning names on a list into conversations, and conversations into booked appointments for our Regional Business Development Managers (BDMs) to attend. You will also work closely with the Marketing team to follow up on campaigns, leads, and target sectors, ensuring a steady pipeline of new opportunities. We are looking for someone who understands the target market and what good looks like to the business. (This role does not involve closing sales or account management.)
Key Responsibilities
- Make consistent, high-volume outbound calls to prospects with little or no prior relationship with Summit Hygiene — this is genuinely cold, not warm‑lead follow‑up.
- Generate and book qualified appointments for BDMs with the right decision‑makers at the right type of prospect.
- Follow up on marketing‑generated leads and campaigns under direction from marketing.
- You are given the freedom to research target accounts if required — company site, LinkedIn, news — to identify the right contact and a relevant reason to call.
- Write clear, professional follow‑up emails where required and calendar invites that reflect well on Summit Hygiene.
- Keep the CRM / pipeline accurately and currently updated — call outcomes, next steps, contact details.
- Consistently work towards and exceed appointment‑setting targets.
- Maintain a professional and positive representation of Summit Hygiene at all times.
Key Performance Focus
- Number of new qualified appointments booked
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven track record of proactive, cold outbound business development — not just handling inbound enquiries.
- Confident and professional on the phone, including with rejection — able to make the next call the same as the last.
- Strong communication and rapport‑building skills.
- Target‑driven and resilient mindset.
- Organised and disciplined enough to self‑manage a call list and a research routine without being chased.
- IT Skills - comfortable in a CRM, Outlook/Google calendar invites, LinkedIn (Sales Navigator a bonus), and picks up new tools fast.
- Experience working alongside sales and marketing teams.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in B2B telesales, appointment setting, or lead generation.
- Experience selling into facilities management, hygiene, cleaning, FM or a comparable B2B services sector.
- Existing familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or a similar prospecting tool.
- A track record of staying in a new‑business hunting role 2 years or more.
Personal Attributes
- Positive, energetic, and motivated.
- Resilient and comfortable with high-volume outbound activity.
- Organised.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
What We Offer
- Competitive basic salary plus performance‑related incentives.
- Company wide profit sharing scheme.
- Flexible working hours.
- Supportive team environment.
- Ongoing training and development.
- Onsite parking + food & drink.
Application question(s)
- Have you had previous experience in Cold calling type work over a sustained period?
- Do you have evidence of calling work you have done showing number of calls and appointments you were directly responsible for?
- Do you enjoy making repeated calls to new prospects without fear of rejection?
