Job Description Head of HR This is one of those that's as good as they get! Head of HR role working for an exciting and very interesting business, hybrid and working for a business where they're looking for someone to make a very real and meaningful impact. This role is about building and fixing, not just maintaining. The HR function here is still developing, which means there’s real opportunity to shape how things work, improve what isn’t quite right, and make a lasting impact. Our client is looking for someone ambitious, with strong critical thinking, who can lead a small HR team while also getting involved in the day-to-day HR and recruitment work across the business site and remote workforce. What you’ll be doing Lead and support a small team of HR Advisers, making sure they’re giving proactive, practical advice that supports the business and stays compliant. Strategic ownership of inclusive recruitment from the attraction piece to onboarding Project management of key HR initiatives from conception, design to execution around succession planning, talent management, engagement, HR systems, ED&I. Manage escalated complex employee relations issues Design and deliver HR policies and procedures that are robust, fit for purpose and in line with employment law. Train and coach line managers so they feel confident using HR policies in practice. Handle complex ER cases, including tribunal risk situations, with a pragmatic, commercial approach. Produce regular HR reports and metrics that give the HR Director and the business a clear picture of what’s happening. What you’ll bring Strong knowledge of employment law and how it applies in real situations. Experience managing and developing an HR team. The ability to juggle multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities and still deliver quickly. Hands-on experience with HR information systems.
