**Are you passionate about social media and digital storytelling?** We are looking for a creative, proactive and experienced **Social Media Officer** to help deliver the Council's priorities through engaging, audience-focused content across our corporate social media channels. This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking someone who can demonstrate hands-on experience managing and growing corporate social media accounts, creating original content, moderating online communities, and confidently engaging with a diverse audience in a professional environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, brimming with ideas and able to transform council projects, services and achievements into compelling social content that informs, educates and engages residents.**Please note** - you must have your own vehicle as you will be working across two sites, Brentwood & Rochford 2/3 days per week, with the remaining days working from home. You will also need to have your own smart phone to create content **Key Responsibilities*** Create engaging and high-quality content across a range of social media platforms.* Produce written content including short-form social posts, longer-form articles and campaign messaging.* Develop graphics, imagery and other creative assets for social media, newsletters and internal communications.* Capture and edit smartphone photography and video content.* Schedule, publish and optimise social media content using best practice techniques.* Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional and human manner.**Essential Experience*** Proven experience managing **corporate social media accounts**, with evidence of successful campaigns and content creation.* Experience creating original social media content rather than simply distributing information.* Experience moderating corporate social media channels, including responding to comments, managing sensitive discussions and protecting brand reputation.* Strong understanding of social media listening and community management.* Experience creating engaging written content, graphics, photography and video content.* Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt tone of voice for different audiences and channels.**Please note** - you must have your own vehicle as you will be working across two sites, Brentwood & Rochford 2/3 days per week, with the remaining days working from home.
