We’re looking for an experienced RVN to join our newly relocated Summerhill Veterinary Centre practice from May 2026.

The Role

We’re looking for a GP RVN to make the most of their clinical skills. You’ll care for inpatients and day patients, support theatre and anaesthesia, and manage admissions, discharges, and post-op care. Our nurse-led clinics cover chronic care, blood pressure checks, vaccinations, and wellness assessments, helping our vets deliver holistic care. The rota includes specialised roles including theatre support, hospital, clinic, and consult support nurses, so you can work to your strengths. We also support development in areas of interest.

About the Practice

Summerhill Veterinary Centre is a well-equipped, RCVS-accredited small animal practice in Fakenham, Norfolk, serving both first-opinion and local referral cases. We’re relocating to a purpose-built site in April 2025 to expand our services and facilities. We’re a friendly, professional, team-focused practice that values the development and wellbeing of all staff. As a veterinary nurse training practice, we support our team to find their niche and grow their skills. Based in a close-knit rural community, we’re near the North Norfolk beaches, pinewoods, and the Norfolk Broads, and just 1.75 hrs from central London by train.

About Our Team

Join a supportive, skilled team of 8 vets, 11 nurses, and 2 care assistants, with additional reception and admin staff. Our Clinical Directors actively promote nurse development, supporting CPD and certificate courses, and designing rotas to play to your strengths.

Working Hours

Normal working days are Monday to Friday, with shifts scheduled between 8:00am and 8:00pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible within these hours to accommodate individual preferences, with the role offering up to 40 hours per week. We also provide our own in-house on-call and out-of-hours service for our clients. On-call cover runs from 5:30pm to 8:00am Monday to Friday, and from 8:30am Saturday through to 8:00am Monday. There are no routine consultations during out-of-hours periods. Weekend on-call duties are either a Saturday or Sunday.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will work confidently within our skilled, supportive team and be happy to participate in the on-call rota alongside our vets, gaining a well-rounded experience of the role.
