An opportunity has become available and we are looking to employ a self-motivated individual to work as part of the Catering Team.
Location: Reaside
Hours: 37.5 hours
Salary: £25,197.47 per annum
Role Purpose: To assist in providing a high-quality food service to patients, staff and visitors.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Catering: Responsible for performing general catering duties including service of food, cleaning of premises and equipment, preparation of snacks, salads, sandwiches, vegetable prep and beverages.
- Responsible for utilising safely mechanical and electrical equipment including operating wash-up machine/floor cleaning machine following appropriate training as required.
- To check meal order sheets that have been submitted to ensure correct food is served as per the request.
- Have knowledge of allergens within food service.
- To assist in the introduction of new staff under the guidance and advice of the Catering Shift leader/Supervisor.
- Responsible for providing food service to patients, staff and visitors.
- Stock: Responsible for the receipt and storage of goods in accordance with the departmental HACCP procedure.
- On occasions responsible for the opening and closing of the main kitchen along with assisting senior chef with cooking duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing general catering duties in kitchens, dining rooms and associated areas including the service of food, cleaning of premises and equipment, preparation of snacks, salads, sandwiches, toast and beverages.
- To assist with temperature recording of all food, including the safe use of mechanical and electrical equipment following appropriate training.
Person Specification:
- General Education to GCSE level or Equivalent.
- BICSc Certificate NVQ 1 & 2 Support Services Level 2 Food Hygiene Knowledge.
- Has worked in a customer-focused environment.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Previous experience of cleaning duties and standards.
- Previous experience of using cleaning equipment.
- Previous experience of working in Mental Health/NHS.
- Awareness of COSHH regulations.
Other:
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of people including patients and staff.
- Able to complete necessary paperwork as instructed to Trust requirements and standards.
- Able to follow work schedules with minimal day-to-day supervision after initial training.
- Able to carry out duties without direct supervision after initial training.
- Able to complete stores requests and submit to supervisor.
- Able to use a variety of cleaning machines.
- Able to move light furniture as part of cleaning duties.
- Able to carry out manual handling tasks on a regular basis.
- Able to identify most pressing tasks within scope of normal work schedule.
- Able to identify and maintain highest levels of cleaning standards at all times.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
- Able to reflect on own performance and identify training needs with Supervisor.
