Senior VMware Engineer
Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our central government client, who is seeking a Senior VMware Engineer for an initial 6 assignments with the option to extend.
Location:
East Kilbride (Glasgow) or London / Hybrid
The ideal candidate will have an active security clearance and a strong VMware/Virtualisation Engineering background in a high-threat government environment.
Skills and Experience:
- Comprehensive hands-on experience in administering and supporting technologies including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VSAN, NSX, PowerCLI, server hardware, and Aria.
- A thorough understanding of enterprise virtualization, data center infrastructure, and hybrid hosting environments.
- Proven experience in managing VMware platform upgrades, migrations, lifecycle management, and transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of VMware infrastructure security, including platform hardening, patch management, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with virtual networking concepts and infrastructure integration processes.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell and PowerCLI scripting.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing automation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks and project-oriented environments.
