Summer-Browning Associates are currently seeking a Senior Motion Designer to work for our Central Government client on an initial 6 month assignment.
Location: London or Bristol/Manchester (a couple of times per month)
You will:
- Help build and develop a motion design language that underpins interaction, brand and design, ensuring that content is legible, accessible and readable, and that interactions are seen and understood by users.
- Collaborate with the brand design team to develop and execute motion design elements that meet project objectives and timelines, across our channels.
- Animate, edit, and optimise motion graphics, ensuring they align with the project’s creative direction and technical requirements/limitations.
- Manage assets and maintain a structured workflow to ensure projects are organised, accessible, and ready for seamless collaboration across teams.
- Collaborate with our accessibility specialists to ensure work aims to be accessible and as inclusive as possible, and where it can’t meet our high standards provide alternative solutions.
- Conceptualise motion design ideas through style frames, storyboards, and animatics to communicate your vision to internal teams and clients.
- Lead the motion design workflow, including understanding and gathering requirements from stakeholders, estimating timelines, and ensuring efficient project delivery.
- Where possible transfer knowledge to existing designers and provide a good handover of all work and documentation of how it was developed, and how to use the work created.
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative ideas for motion design strategies and creative approaches.
You will have:
- 5+ years of professional experience (agency or in-house) in motion design, with a graphic design background and with a portfolio showcasing strong creative and technical abilities across various media formats.
- Can demonstrate experience of creating static and motion graphics for a multichannel organisation, including social media, video/YouTube, mobile Apps and Websites that coherently express the brand across all those channels.
- Expertise in creating dynamic motion graphics, including animation, kinetic typography, particle effects, and visual storytelling through motion.
- Proficiency prototyping in motion, using Principle, Figma, or a similar tool.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Adobe Suite (particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Adobe Animate and Illustrator). Experience in Red Giant and Cinema 4D or equivalent are added bonuses.
- Strong experience with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, particularly for integrating motion graphics with live-action footage.
- In-depth knowledge of file formats, codecs, and optimisation techniques to ensure motion graphics perform well across various platforms.
