The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Contract: Zero-hour/ad-hoc consultancy role. Applicants must have a valid right to work as a self‑employed individual in the UK. We are always looking for new talent to join our network, so applications are rolling throughout the year. Please be aware that some careers may have a higher demand for consultants than others.

Industry Consultants (ICs) play a crucial role in the delivery of our educational events for young people aged 15‑18. As an IC, you’ll share your passion and expertise through interactive workshops, lectures, networking and content‑creation opportunities. ICs are assigned to relevant programmes based on their studies, experience and interests. You may submit a career preference in your application.

During the summer holidays, we deliver immersive Summer Experiences designed to give students a 360‑degree insight into their dream career. Led by industry professionals, our programmes offer up to 65 hours of hands‑on experience, including visits to real workplaces, professional development coaching, and exclusive networking opportunities. Our Summer Experiences are based on‑campus in central London at some of the UK’s most prestigious universities, including University College London (UCL), the London School of Economics (LSE), and the University of London. Students can choose to attend a one‑week, two‑week, or two‑week Premium programme, with the option to study on a non‑residential or residential basis. We also run additional one‑day masterclasses in November and March to give students a taster of the industry.

Renumeration varies per engagement. Your Programme Manager will inform you of your fee in writing prior to each engagement. Event days typically run from 9am – 6pm, with the option of full days, half days, and single sessions. Your Programme Manager will inform you of all available shift opportunities via email.

Location: We are primarily based in the Bloomsbury area; however, ICs will be required to travel to different locations across central London as required by their assigned programme.

Responsibilities while supporting our programmes might include:

  • Delivering engaging sessions about your industry in the form of a simulation, lectures, role‑play, or Q&A.
  • Creating and reviewing industry‑specific content to ensure students receive the most up‑to‑date and authentic information.
  • Mentoring and inspiring students by answering their questions, sharing your own journey and offering personalised feedback.

You are a confident and passionate professional currently working in one of our 15 industries. You exhibit a can‑do attitude and demonstrate a high level of ownership and professionalism when approaching your work. You are looking for opportunities to inspire the next generation and help them reach their full potential. You have, and can demonstrate, the following essential skills and interests:

  • Proven experience in one of our 15 industries (architecture, art, computer science, dentistry, engineering, entrepreneurship, forensic science, international politics, investment banking, law, media, medicine, psychology, TV & film, or veterinary medicine) or general careers support.
  • A passion for working with young people and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and create engaging experiences.
  • An energetic, enthusiastic and friendly approach.
