Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We're looking for a Financial Institutions Macro Rates Sales (Director) for our GMD (Macro Rates Sales) to join our team! Play a key role to develop secondary business in EMEA with primary responsibility of selling derivative products. The development will include overall Macro Rates Sales function. Lead the initiatives of creating a combined business in both Cash Securities and Derivatives. Help leveraging off our strength in Derivatives capability into the Cash Bond business.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Acquiring clients, maintaining and fostering relationship with new and existing clients' coverage for multiple instruments including Cash Fixed Income and Derivatives.
  • Close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Macro Rates Sales & Trading, including APAC and Americas regions to provide seamless coverage for the client world-wide.

Business Area

Working within the Global Markets Dept. in the Sales & Trading Vertical Securities & derivatives sales function in the secondary market area (public side). Close collaboration with APAC, EU continent and US in the global securities market space in SMBC group.

Position Description

Acquiring clients, maintaining and fostering relationship with new and existing clients' coverage for multiple instruments including Cash Fixed Income and Derivatives. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Macro Rates Sales & Trading, including APAC and Americas regions to provide seamless coverage for the client world-wide.

For you to succeed in the role, you'll need to have:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experiences with proven high-quality ability of covering numbers of clients in multiple regions and assets that will lead to more transactional volumes and better pricing.
  • SMFG strategy awareness to influence the client and product strategy of our Macro Rates business and all relevant businesses globally, helping to position the businesses for success.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and coordination skills carried out accurately while paying attention to detail.
  • The role will partake not only facing the clients but also will partake in various initiatives that will enhance faster client onboarding, better client coverage setup, etc.
