Role Summary
We’re looking for a CREDIT REVIEWER to join our Audit Department Credit Review (ADCR) team. This role supports the Audit Department in providing assurance to management that the grading applied to the obligors reviewed is appropriate and Bank procedures have been followed. It also assists ADCR in managing key stakeholder relationships and supports ADCR with industry / product specific knowledge based on areas of expertise.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in credit analysis and management within major UK or international banks is essential.
- A clear understanding of the credit risk environment relevant to the business being reviewed, including complex financing, is required.
- Preferred candidates will have experience in Project Finance or Leveraged Finance.
- Attention to detail is necessary for reviewing and documenting work, interpreting findings, and identifying trends.
- Proficiency in IT with a data-driven approach is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for efficiently completing reviews, preparing reports, documenting findings, and liaising with key stakeholders and ADCR management.
Position Description
The ADCR Credit Reviewer is responsible for credit reviews assigned by the relevant Credit Review Partner within the budgeted timeframe. Reviews will normally relate to more complex financing including deteriorating credits. The ADCR Credit Reviewer interacts with ADCR team members and ADCR Management up to ED/MD level.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting a review of credit applications to determine, based on the agreed sampling methodology, which application will require a Full File Review.
- Conducting a Full File Review of assigned credit applications to ensure accuracy of the Obligor and Facility Grades as well as Borrower’s Category (if applicable).
- Discussing issues found and raise questions with FO person in charge when clarifications are required to complete the credit reviews.
- Discussing and agreeing with the Credit Review Partner Findings and Recommendations that need to be raised.
- Submit reviews to the Credit Review Partner for approval including draft Recommendations and Other Findings.
- Undertaking the follow-up and closure of any Recommendations raised.
- Completing any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by Credit Review Partner including Self-Assessment Classification Review or DCF Review.
- Deputising for Credit Review Partner in 1) attending Special Credits Review (SCR) meetings as observer, 2) arranging and chairing periodic meetings with stakeholders.
- Cross-training of staff across the different products / areas of expertise.
- Leading Branch Credit Review process and ADCR’s participation in Internal Audit on-site as Subject Matter Expert for Credit.
The role requires knowledge of credit related rules and procedures which are specific to the Bank. Negotiating and influencing skills are expected, to interact with FO/CD. Having a clear understanding of the different credit-related products offered by the Bank, their complexities, and risks.
