The Warehouse Operator supports the Warehouse Management in the day‑to‑day running of the warehouse, ensuring high standards of operation, safety and effectiveness while organising goods and parts for the main factory.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, following all safety standards and company protocols, and carry out daily inspections.
- Move goods within the warehouse and to the factory, including loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Control inventory: carry out regular stock checks (cycle counts), verify stock quantities, locations and correct marking.
- Process deliveries: generate GRN for all incoming goods, verify delivery notes against goods received and report discrepancies or damage to management.
- Prepare shipments for collection, ensuring paperwork matches dispatch.
- Ensure COSHH items are stored correctly as per company guidance.
- Maintain a tidy warehouse: store equipment properly, report damages or issues to management promptly, and implement best practices.
- Coordinate with Management on additional tasks related to warehouse duties.
- Uphold high safety standards within the working environment.
- Support on‑site waste management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience (training available).
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Forklift licence (training available if not).
- Ability to use inventory software, databases and systems (training available if not).
- Strong written and spoken English, and basic maths skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to change tasks at short notice.
- Problem‑solving skills to work independently.
- Basic computer skills for ERP data entry.
- Quality control awareness and ability to recognise non‑conforming goods.
- Willingness to learn new skills and support other team members.
- Good time‑keeping skills.
