  • Role Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and customer‑focused IT Assistant to support and maintain the day‑to‑day IT operations across our office and manufacturing site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering end‑user IT services, managing IT assets, and maintaining IT infrastructure that supports business operations.

This role combines hands‑on user support with responsibility for the administration and maintenance of network, server, and endpoint environments.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • End User Services
  • Coordinate IT onboarding activities, including user account provisioning, device deployment, and IT induction for new employees
  • Configure and support Microsoft 365, MDM, remote access solutions, and other workplace applications
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end‑user devices, workplace technologies, and user access issues
  • Maintain IT asset records and manage stock levels for IT equipment and accessories
  • Coordinate IT procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, supporting equipment orders, and receiving deliveries
  • Infrastructure and Network Management
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure across office and manufacturing sites, including network, server, and endpoint environments
  • Administer network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records
  • Manage infrastructure upgrades, deployments, patch management, and vulnerability remediation to ensure the stability, security, and availability of IT infrastructure
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve infrastructure and network‑related issues where required
  • Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in an IT support or IT Assistant role.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Share Point, and One Drive.
  • Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple support requests.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT security frameworks.
  • Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs / Nat 5’s including Maths and English.
  • A relevant qualification in Information Technology would be advantageous but not essential.
