The Communications Executive supports the growth of Invertek Drives by delivering high quality external communications that strengthen brand visibility, generate engagement, and increase awareness of Invertek's variable frequency drives and associated products across key markets. The role focuses primarily on external communications including PR, media relations, content creation, website content, and digital PR through Invertek's website and social media channels. Internal communications is part of the role, supporting employee updates and internal campaigns when needed.
Working closely with the Invertek Drives Marketing team, the role is hands on and delivery focused, working with colleagues across sales, product management, engineering, and customer services to turn technical information into clear, compelling stories. This role also will be part of the communications network of SHI Europe, liaising with the Corporate Communications Manager (SHI Europe).
Key responsibilities- External communications, PR and media relations
- Deliver day to day external communications activity that supports commercial objectives and builds Invertek's reputation in industrial and sector specific media.
- Draft media releases, product focused stories, case studies, and customer success content that promotes Invertek's VFD range and associated products.
- Support media relations, including building and maintaining press contacts, responding to enquiries, and coordinating interviews and briefings.
- Identify news opportunities linked to product launches, exhibitions, sector trends, applications, investment, and people stories.
- Support communications around exhibitions and events, including pre-event promotion and post event coverage.
- Maintain an external communications calendar aligned with commercial priorities and product activity.
- Digital PR, website and social media
- Grow Invertek's digital presence through consistent, engaging content across owned channels, with a focus on building audiences and strengthening engagement.
- Create and publish content across Invertek social media channels, with a particular focus on LinkedIn and campaign based activity.
- Support growth of social media channels through regular posting, community management, and engagement with relevant audiences and partners.
- Work with colleagues to gather content from across the business including product updates, applications, people stories, and events.
- Support website content updates, including news and case studies, ensuring content is structured and easy to find.
- Use SEO best practice and GEO focused writing techniques so content performs well in search and is discoverable through AI driven search tools.
- Track performance using platform analytics and website metrics, and suggest improvements to increase reach and engagement.
- Content creation and storytelling support
- Support the creation of strong content assets that can be used across PR, marketing, and sales support.
- Coordinate photography, video, and simple visual content creation when needed, working with internal teams and suppliers.
- Support the development of presentations and sales enablement materials, ensuring alignment with brand and messaging.
- Ensure tone of voice, accuracy, and brand consistency across all external communications.
- Internal communications
- Provide support for internal communications ensuring employees are informed about key updates and successes.
- Draft internal updates for the intranet or internal platforms covering business news, people updates, and achievements.
- Support internal campaigns linked to engagement, wellbeing, or key milestones.
- Coordinate with HR and leadership to gather content and ensure messages are clear and timely.
- PR and media relations skills, including writing media releases and pitching stories to trade and business media.
- Strong content creation and editing skills, able to turn technical information into clear and engaging communications.
- Digital PR capability, with confidence creating content for social media and managing engagement.
- Understanding of social media channel growth, including consistent posting, audience building, and community interaction.
- Working knowledge of SEO and GEO focused content creation, including structure, keywords, and discoverability.
- Comfortable using analytics to assess performance and improve content and channel activity.
- Well organised and reliable, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A good understanding of wider business practices and the ability to advise and work with senior management and directors on corporate affairs and reputation management when required.
- Increased volume and quality of external media coverage in relevant trade, sector, and business media.
