We are now looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Outsourced Finance Services team, which provides our clients with access to an experienced accounts department on a basis which works for them. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, building strong client relationships, and using technology and automation to drive smarter financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

In this varied and client-facing role, you will:

  • Manage the full management accounts workflow cycle across a portfolio of clients
  • Support and oversee outsourced and internal team members with day-to-day workloads
  • Monitor bookkeeping workflows and assist with reviewing transactional data
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships
  • Carry out detailed reviews and analysis of management accounts, delivering meaningful financial insights
  • Prepare and present management information to clients in a clear and commercial way
  • Facilitate effective communication between outsourced teams, Carpenter Box colleagues, and clients
  • Manage work in progress and billing across your client portfolio
  • Support continuous learning by attending training and maintaining professional development requirements
  • Assist with wider finance function activities such as payment runs, forecasting, and ad-hoc client support
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including the use of AI and automation tools
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are either fully qualified, or nearing completion of ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience reviewing and delivering management accounts
  • Enjoy mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Have previous experience in an accountancy practice, or industry experience with a clear understanding of managing multiple clients
  • Have proven experience in improving efficiencies within finance processes
  • Have strong IT skills and experience using a variety of accounting software packages
  • Have an interest in AI, automation, and using technology to create better outcomes for clients
