We are seeking a talented and creative Assistant Women’s Jersey wear Designer to join our dynamic design team. With at least 2 years of experience, you will support the creation of trend-led, innovative, and commercially successful designs for women’s jersey wear. You will contribute to all aspects of the design process, from concept through to finished product, involved in customer meetings & liaising with our colleagues in China.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Womenswear to research & develop seasonal concepts and mood boards.
  • Assist in designing jersey wear pieces that align with market trends & target customer profiles.
  • Produce detailed technical CAD sheets to enable China to produce samples.
  • Source fabrics, trims, & embellishments while considering quality & costs.
  • Liaise with our Teams in China to ensure design ideas are translated accurately into final products.
  • Assist in preparing presentations for customers.
  • Stay up to date with the latest womenswear & jersey wear trends, including competitor analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing womenswear, with a focus on jersey wear preferred.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, & textile techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail & an eye for colour, pattern, and trends.
  • Strong communication & organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about womenswear design & creating innovative, trend-led products.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with knitted fabrics, & embellishment knowledge print/embroidery etc.
  • Ability to adapt between different customer requirements & price points.
  • Strong graphic ability.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for womenswear & a commitment to staying updated with industry trends.
