About the role
We are looking for a proactive, personable Engagement & Outreach Executive to join our Brand & Communications team and support our Education Sales team in reaching and engaging schools across our key territories. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, outreach, and relationship-building. You’ll play a key part in connecting with schools that will benefit most from Sumdog, using thoughtful, personalised communication to start meaningful conversations, nurture interest, and generate high-quality leads for our Education Sales team. You’ll manage both outbound and inbound engagement—researching and reaching out to priority schools, qualifying inbound enquiries, and ensuring warm, well-informed handovers to sales colleagues. You’ll also represent Sumdog in schools and at education events and exhibitions, acting as a friendly, knowledgeable ambassador for our brand. Working closely with Brand & Communications and Education Sales, you’ll help ensure our outreach is consistent, human, and aligned with Sumdog’s mission—supporting teachers and schools to improve outcomes for every learner.
About You
You’re a confident, engaging communicator who enjoys building relationships and starting conversations. You’re naturally curious about schools, educators, and the challenges they face, and you’re motivated by work that has a real impact on children’s learning. Highly organised and self-motivated, you’re comfortable managing multiple outreach activities at once—from researching schools and crafting personalised messages to tracking leads and following up consistently. You take pride in being reliable and detail-oriented, ensuring information is accurate and handovers are clear. You’re creative and adaptable in how you communicate, tailoring your approach to different audiences and channels. You’re resilient and proactive, comfortable with outreach and follow-up, and motivated by seeing your efforts translate into meaningful engagement and qualified opportunities. You collaborate well across teams and value shared goals. You’re happy working closely with sales colleagues, marketers, and event teams, and you understand how strong communication and alignment contribute to success. Above all, you’re passionate about education and believe in Sumdog’s mission to help every child reach their full potential. You’re excited to represent a product that supports teachers and makes learning more engaging for children.
- 1–2 years’ experience in outreach, marketing, or sales support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging educators and school stakeholders.
- Experience with digital outreach channels (email, social, phone).
- Ability to research and identify target accounts and key contacts.
- Experience qualifying inbound leads and assessing readiness to engage with sales teams.
- Comfortable using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to manage leads and activity.
- Highly organised, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness and ability to attend school visits, education events, and trade exhibitions.
- Experience working within the education sector or with schools.
- Experience in EdTech, education marketing, or education‑focused sales teams.
- Familiarity with lead nurturing strategies.
- Experience gathering and sharing customer feedback to inform marketing or product decisions.
- Understanding of the UK school landscape (including MATs or regional education structures).
