Suma workers work together collectively to set the direction of the business β there are no shareholders and no traditional bosses. Everyone at Suma gets paid the same wage, takes personal and equal responsibility and does a range of different jobs each week.
We are currently looking for an HGV Driver to join us on a full-time basis for a fixed-term contract of 12 months. A route to permanent employment is available through gaining membership to our co-operative.
The Benefits
β Salary of Β£17.24 per hour (expenses as extra)
β Daily expense allowance benchmark rates (10 hrs worked = Β£10)
β 40 hr contract as minimum
β 40 hrs a week basic = Β£35,859.20 (with the possibility of increased hours earning up to Β£44,824)
β Weekday rota (Monday to Friday β from 4am start)
β Generous holiday entitlement 38 days for a full-time worker

The Role
As an HGV Driver, you will provide a crucial link between Suma and our customers by delivering and collecting goods efficiently and safely, ensuring our customers receive excellent customer service.
Beyond this, you will complete all necessary paperwork, identify any defects and provide feedback to your co-ordinator.
Following all procedures as set out by Suma and external authorities relating to safe and legal driving, you will also ensure that our vehicles remain roadworthy and safe, raising issues where required.
About You
To be considered as an HGV Driver, you will need:
β Experience driving an HGV vehicle to conduct deliveries and collections
β Excellent communication and time management skills
β The ability to work as part of a team, as well as alone
β A valid HGV licence
