Role Overview
As a Junior Developer, you will help bring to life our flagship digital human products—WebAgent and SocialAgent—that are transforming customer service across Retail and Hospitality. You will contribute to front-end and back-end development, support integration with AI and LLM APIs, and help ensure legal compliance (e.g., EU AI Act) through technical robustness and traceability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain components for WebAgent and SocialAgent
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, content teams, and senior developers
- Integrate APIs (e.g., LLMs, CRM, chatbot frameworks)
- Assist in ensuring transparency, logging, and traceability of AI decisions
- Contribute to multilingual and accessibility features
- Debug and resolve user-reported and internal issues
- Write clean, maintainable code with basic documentation
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Strong foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong foundation in Three.JS
- Experience with either Python, C#, Rust, or WebAssembly
- Experience with one or more modern front-end frameworks (React preferred)
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
- Basic backend skills (e.g., Node.js, Express, RESTful APIs)
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of JSON, API integration, and async operations
You must be able to work from our South Liverpool office >3 days per week.
Preferred (but not required) Experience
- Working with AI APIs (OpenAI, Google Gemini, etc.)
- Exposure to chatbot platforms or conversational design
- Knowledge of multilingual or accessibility best practices (ARIA, WCAG)
- Interest in ethical AI development and/or regulatory standards (e.g., EU AI Act)
- Personal projects or portfolio showcasing relevant work
