About the role

Sulzer's Leeds facility is a global centre of excellence for advanced design and manufacturing, specialising in OEM pump technology and engineered solutions for critical industrial applications. This site brings together cutting-edge engineering capability, digital design, and high-precision manufacturing, supporting sectors such as energy, water, chemicals, and infrastructure. With significant recent investment, our Leeds operations are evolving rapidly - enhancing our capabilities in advanced machining, digital engineering, testing, and product innovation. This is where new business pumps are brought to life from cradle to grave - from initial concept and design through to manufacture, testing, delivery, and lifecycle support.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value pump projects within our new business portfolio. You will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects across the full lifecycle - from bid handover through design, manufacturing, and final delivery
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring strong relationships and clear communication
  • Drive project planning, scheduling, risk management, and cost control
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including design engineering, production, procurement, and quality
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within engineering, manufacturing, or OEM environments
  • Strong knowledge of complex mechanical equipment, ideally pumps or rotating equipment
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-value, technically complex projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget control and contract management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) desirable
