Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.

About the role

At Sulzer, we are a global leader in fluid engineering and rotating equipment services. Our Leeds Service Centre is one of the UK's key operational hubs, providing the repair, refurbishment, maintenance and performance enhancement of pumps, motors and other rotating equipment for customers across the power generation, water, oil & gas, chemical and industrial sectors. The centre supports both workshop-based and field service activities, helping customers maximise reliability, reduce downtime and improve asset performance.

As we enter the peak outage season, where maintaining consistent customer support and engagement is critical, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager for an initial 3-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering complex service and overhaul projects, ensuring customer commitments are executed safely, on time, and within budget.

The Role

  • Managing project delivery from initiation to close-out.
  • Acting as the main customer contact for key accounts.
  • Coordinating internal teams across engineering, operations, procurement and field service.
  • Monitoring project schedules, budgets, risks and resource requirements.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with customer expectations.
  • Providing regular progress updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identifying and managing commercial opportunities and project variations.
  • Supporting outage planning and execution for critical customer sites.
  • Building strong relationships that secure repeat business and long-term partnerships.

About You

  • Proven Project Management experience within engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or industrial services.
  • Experience managing customer-facing projects with commercial accountability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and risk management.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, motors or related industrial systems would be advantageous.
  • A recognised Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is desirable.

What we offer you

Contract & Engagement Options: We are open to considering candidates on either a PAYE fixed-term contract basis or through a Limited Company contractor arrangement. Please note that following a CEST assessment, this role has been determined to fall inside IR35, and any contractor engagement would therefore be managed accordingly.

Working Pattern: This role is primarily site-based in Leeds, reflecting its close connection to our operations, customers, and team collaboration. However, we recognise the value of flexibility and can support occasional home working where appropriate.

Facilities

We've recently invested significantly in modernising our Leeds facility, creating a brighter, more efficient, and technologically advanced working environment designed to support both high-quality delivery and a positive employee experience.

As part of our team, you'll benefit from:

  • Free, secure onsite parking with EV charging facilities.
  • Multi-faith prayer room.
  • Newly refurbished and modernised working areas.
  • Active Sports & Social Club with regular events and prize draws.
  • 24/7 onsite gym.
  • Subsidised vending machines.
  • Subsidised canteen serving a variety of hot and cold food options.
