About the role

Sulzer’s Pumps, Parts & Retrofit (PPR) division supports customers across oil & gas, power generation, renewables and general industry by upgrading and modernising their installed pump assets. Through engineered pump retrofit solutions, covering hydraulic, mechanical and materials improvements, we enhance performance, reliability and energy efficiency while reducing downtime and extending the life of critical pumping equipment.

We are now looking for a Head of Projects to lead our project organisation and drive delivery excellence across a portfolio of engineering and aftermarket projects.

What You’ll Deliver
  • Provide strategic leadership and governance across the project management function, ensuring consistent delivery performance, commercial control, and alignment with divisional objectives.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the Project Management team, driving capability growth, succession planning, and a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of all retrofit and aftermarket projects, ensuring robust project controls, risk management, customer communication and adherence to safety, quality, budget, and schedule commitments.
  • Act as the senior escalation and decision-making authority for operational, commercial, and customer matters, supporting major contract reviews, bid activity, and cross-functional alignment with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations.
  • Drive functional excellence and process ownership, leading departmental improvements, KPI management, resource planning, and the ongoing development of best‐practice project management standards.
What You’ll Bring
  • An engineering background and/or recognised project management qualifications (such as PRINCE2 or APM) are advantageous; however, demonstrable experience and a strong track record in project delivery will be considered of greater significance.
  • Proven people leadership experience within a project management environment.
  • Strong background in pumps, rotating equipment, or engineering aftermarket services.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects with confidence and clarity.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and people-management skills.
  • A drive for continuous improvement and customer excellence.
