About the role

Job Summary

Sulzer is seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn and develop practical electrical skills under the guidance of experienced professionals, contributing to the maintenance and installation of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Support troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks on electrical systems.
  • Prepare and assemble electrical components and conduits.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and formal apprenticeship programs.
  • Assist with material handling and equipment setup.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as logging work hours and materials used.

Qualifications

  • Good GCSEs (especially Maths & English).
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles is a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to safety and a desire to learn and grow in the electrical trade.

Year 1: Our apprentices will attend college full time during their first year as an apprentice while they work towards a Level 2 or 3 qualification. Here you will learn the basics needed for your role with us at Sulzer.

Years 2, 3 & 4: Join the team at Sulzer—You’ll be supported in putting the practical skills you learnt at college into real work. To support your development, you will be offered internal training and mentoring while working towards a Level 3 qualification and final Apprenticeship Standard.
