Overview About The Role
The Sales Engineering Specialist supports the sales process by providing technical expertise and helping customers understand how products meet their needs. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales, ensuring technical accuracy and customer satisfaction. This job profile is intended for professionals who apply advanced knowledge of a job area and are required to manage projects/processes independently with limited supervision. Typically, they coach and review the work of lower level professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve revenue targets and expand Sulzer's presence within assigned key accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within customer organizations, including C-suite, technical, and procurement teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of customer queries, issues, and concerns.
- Identify and understand customer needs, challenges, and future plans to proactively offer relevant Sulzer products, solutions, and services.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals, tenders, and contracts, negotiating terms to secure profitable business.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, engineering, service, and marketing, to deliver comprehensive solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform business strategy and product development.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and regularly report on account performance and progress against targets.
- Represent Sulzer Pumps Wastewater UK Ltd. at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a Key Account Management or similar senior sales role, ideally within the wastewater, water treatment, or related industrial pump sector.
- Demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of wastewater infrastructure, pump systems, and related solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive account plans.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven with a strong customer focus.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the UK.
