About the role
At Sulzer GT Aero, we specialize in the repair, overhaul, and field service of industrial, marine, and power gas turbines. With over two decades of expertise, our team delivers tailored solutions to clients worldwide, ensuring reliability, performance, and rapid turnaround. From spare parts and consultancy to full turbine refurbishment, we’re the trusted partner for critical rotating equipment.
This role is based at our Netherley facility near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire, a key hub for our turbine operations and customer support.
Your Role:
As a Fitter, you’ll be responsible for the hands-on repair and overhaul of gas turbines, power turbines, and associated equipment. You’ll work as part of a skilled workshop team, ensuring high standards of engineering, safety, and documentation throughout the build process.
Job Responsibilities

Strip, inspect, sub-assemble, and rebuild turbine components.

Accurately record critical measurements and report non-conformances.

Maintain clean and organised workstations, ensuring tooling and chemicals are stored correctly.

Complete all build documentation and submit for review.

Support apprentice training and contribute to a culture of safety and quality.

Input working hours into company systems and assist with non-conformance reporting
Job Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar workshop or engineering role.

Knowledge of gas turbine repair and refurbishment (advantageous).

Experience in fabrication, repair, or construction environments.
