About the role Sulzer’s Leeds facility is a global centre of excellence for advanced design and manufacturing, delivering OEM pump technology and engineered solutions for critical industries including energy, water, chemicals and infrastructure.

Following significant recent investment, the site is rapidly evolving, strengthening capabilities in advanced machining, digital engineering, testing and innovation—and serves as an end-to-end hub where new pumps are brought to life from concept and design through to manufacture, testing, delivery and full lifecycle support..

We are now looking for a Factored Buyer to join our Supply Chain team and play a key role in ensuring the seamless procurement of externally manufactured components, assemblies and engineered products that support our customer commitments across the globe.

What you'll be doing Managing the end-to-end procurement process for factored and engineered products.

Raising and managing purchase orders in line with business requirements.

Developing strong relationships with suppliers to ensure delivery, quality and cost expectations are achieved.

Monitoring supplier performance and proactively resolving shortages, delays and supply chain risks.

Negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial terms to deliver value to the business.

Supporting supplier selection, qualification and development activities.

Working closely with Production Planning to ensure material availability aligns with customer demand.

Collaborating with Engineering teams on technical sourcing requirements and new product introductions.

Supporting inventory optimisation and working capital improvement initiatives.

What we're looking for Previous experience in a Buyer, Factored Buyer, Procurement or Supply Chain role within manufacturing, engineering or an OEM environment.

Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate effectively.

Experience purchasing engineered components, fabricated products, castings, machined parts or technical equipment would be advantageous.

Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.

Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS is desirable.
