About the role
Sulzer is looking for a driven and commercially minded Account Manager to grow and develop our relationships with major Water Utility providers across Wales and the Southern Regions. You’ll manage an established customer base, identify new opportunities within those accounts, and take ownership for revenue growth across both Capital and Service & Aftermarket portfolios. This is a strategic, customer-facing role for someone who thrives on autonomy, consultative selling, and long-term partnership building — with a genuine opportunity to progress into leadership as the account base grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and developing existing Water Utility accounts across Wales and the Southern Regions.
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities within those accounts across Capital equipment and Aftermarket services.
- Acting as the primary point of contact, building strong technical and commercial relationships at multiple stakeholder levels.
- Owning the number: forecasting, pipeline management, and delivering against growth targets.
- Working closely with internal Engineering, Service, and Commercial teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Growing these accounts to a scale where you will have the opportunity to develop and lead your own team in future.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as an Account Manager, Sales Engineer, or Business Development professional within Water Utilities, Engineering, Pumps, Rotating Equipment, or related industrial sectors.
- A strong understanding of the Water sector’s operational and regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to grow accounts, uncover opportunities, and close technical solutions.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build trust and credibility.
- Commercially sharp, organised, and capable of managing a complex regional territory.
- Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable owning both the customer relationship and commercial outcomes.
What we offer you
- A competitive base salary.
- An annual scheme that rewards company success and individual impact, featuring significant multipliers for exceptional results and role-modeling our core values.
- Company car or allowance, including EV options.
- 33 days annual leave and home-working flexibility with full diary autonomy.
- Defined contribution pension scheme and Long Service Awards.
- Continuous professional development through our dedicated Learning Pathways.
- Costco membership, discounted car leasing, and a wide range of retail/lifestyle discounts.
