About The Role

The Tendering Manager is responsible for managing a team of professionals in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals. This role ensures the accuracy and competitiveness of tenders and supports the sales process with technical expertise.

Job Summary

The Commercial Excellence Lead will be instrumental in driving profitable growth and enhancing customer satisfaction by optimizing sales processes, tools, and strategies within Sulzer Services (UK) Ltd. This role focuses on improving sales effectiveness and efficiency across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial excellence strategies and initiatives to improve sales performance, customer engagement, and market share.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify areas for improvement and propose actionable solutions.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of sales processes, including lead generation, opportunity management, quoting, and order fulfillment.
  • Evaluate and recommend sales technologies and CRM system enhancements to support commercial excellence objectives.
  • Develop and deliver sales training programs and materials to improve the capabilities of the sales team.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure alignment of commercial strategies and execution.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for commercial activities, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in sales forecasting, pricing strategies, and contract management.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in sales operations and customer relationship management.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial excellence, sales operations, sales management, or a similar analytical/strategic role, preferably within a B2B industrial services or engineering environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing commercial strategies that drove measurable improvements in sales performance and profitability.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
  • Understanding of industrial service markets and customer needs is highly desirable.
