At GT Aero Services, part of the Sulzer Group, we specialise in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of Aeroderivative Industrial Gas Turbines, supporting critical operations across the globe. As we continue to invest in our people, facilities, and services, we’re looking for a forward-thinking Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a high-impact role and shape how we deliver MRO excellence across the full gas turbine lifecycle.
Your Impact
Lead and develop the engineering team, ensuring high-quality technical output across all turbine strip, inspection, and overhaul work
Oversee component-level repair processes, including hot section repairs, rotor refurbishment, and control system updates
Provide technical support to global service centres, vendors, and on-site operations
Define and deliver technical procedures (SOPs, POPs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Part Development teams to drive efficiency and reliability
Support the development of long-term service partnerships.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, but also the leadership and commercial awareness to influence change and drive performance.
Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Extensive experience in gas turbine MRO — ideally including aero-derivative units, but broader turbine experience will be considered
Demonstrable track record in strip, inspection, overhaul, and repair of rotating equipment
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with a drive to improve processes and deliver customer value
