Are you detail-oriented, technically minded, and looking to start a career in survey data processing? We are looking for a motivated Trainee Data Processor to join our onshore team in Glasgow and develop the skills required to support the processing, quality control, and management of survey data within a supervised project environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong IT literacy, numerical ability, and a willingness to learn technical workflows and industry systems.
As a Trainee Data Processor, you will support the handling and organisation of hydrographic, bathymetric, and other survey‑related datasets while working alongside experienced Data Processors and project teams. Full training and competency development will be provided.
Key Responsibilities- Learn and develop the core skills required to become a competent Data Processor
- Assist with the processing, checking, organisation, and management of survey data under supervision
- Support the production of charts, reports, and project deliverables
- Attend training sessions and work towards internal competency requirements
- Identify and elevate data issues or inconsistencies to senior team members
- Strong IT literacy and confidence using computers, software applications, and digital filing systems
- Good numerical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work accurately with large datasets and technical information
- A methodical approach and ability to follow structured procedures and workflows
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn technical terminology and processing systems
