We are looking for an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our finance leadership team. Based in Glasgow and reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision making, and helping the business achieve its growth ambitions. This is a great opportunity for a qualified finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, and wants to make a visible impact across the organisation. You’ll be at the heart of decision‑making, shaping financial strategy across international projects and influencing outcomes that matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our FP&A Manager, you will be at the centre of the business, providing the analysis, forecasting, and commercial insight that supports key decisions. You’ll:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling 12‑month forecasting cycle
  • Develop meaningful financial models that improve forecasting accuracy and business understanding
  • Analyse business performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and key drivers
  • Partner closely with Regional Directors and operational leaders to support delivery of budgets and financial targets
  • Provide commercial insight to support tendering and business development activities
  • Challenge assumptions and help improve the quality of financial reporting and forecasting across the organisation
  • Work alongside the CFO and Finance Director on strategic projects and business initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting capabilities, and forecasting systems

Why This Role

This position offers the opportunity to:

  • Work directly with senior leadership, gaining exposure to high level strategy and expanding your influence beyond traditional FP&A boundaries.
  • Influence strategic decisions
  • Take full ownership of the planning and forecasting agenda across the business
  • Develop strong commercial exposure through close collaboration with operational teams in the heart of our HQ in Glasgow
  • Lead meaningful improvements to systems, reporting, and financial processes
  • Build your profile within a growing and ambitious organisation
  • Establish a clear path to further leadership opportunities, with direct mentoring from the CFO

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who combines strong technical finance skills with commercial awareness, drive and excellent stakeholder management. You’ll ideally bring:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or equivalent financial analysis experience)
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
  • Experience partnering with operational and non‑finance stakeholders
  • The confidence to challenge, influence, and drive better business outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into practical business insights

What Will Make You Successful

You’ll be someone who is:

  • Commercially curious and proactive with strong business acumen
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys working across functions
  • Persuasive and passionate about improving processes and delivering meaningful business value

At Sulmara, we believe great talent comes from all walks of life. Talent has no labels here. If you’re qualified, you’re welcome – regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, identity, background or coffee preference. Bring your difference.
