Part time, 16 hours (Monday - Friday, 11:30am - 2:30pm + 1 additional hour per week) Permanent position (term time only) £13.20 - £13.85 per hour (NJC Point 5-8, depending on experience and qualifications).

The Silver Robin Restaurant at Sullivan Upper School serves both the Secondary and Preparatory departments, catering to over 550 meals per day. Our team is dedicated to providing nutritious and delicious meals in a welcoming atmosphere for pupils and staff.

The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the school's catering team, ensuring high-quality food service and maintaining hygiene standards. Working closely with the Catering Manager, you'll help with meal preparation, service, and general kitchen duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic food and beverage preparation, including vegetables and snacks
  • Simple cooking using pre-prepared ingredients
  • Setting up and managing the food service area
  • Transferring and serving meals, including transported meals
  • Engaging with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors to promote meals
  • Preparing the dining area: arranging tables, setting out cutlery, and maintaining cleanliness
  • General kitchen duties: washing up, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards
  • Temperature recording for food safety compliance
  • Handling cash and till operations
