About Us
Sullivan & Stanley is not a traditional consulting firm and this isn't a traditional compliance role. We're a fast-scaling, mission-driven consultancy pioneering a Service-as-a-Software approach to change, and we need a sharp, commercially minded compliance professional to hold the regulatory and contractual foundations together as we grow.
Reporting directly to the COO, this is a genuinely broad role spanning contract governance, GDPR, IR35, quality assurance, framework management and associate compliance with real influence over how the function operates and scales. You'll inherit a strong foundation and leave it better than you found it. The role is clearly to protect the firm without slowing it down.
What you'll own:
- End-to-end contract lifecycle management — from drafting and negotiation through to audit and renewal
- IR35 compliance, including SDS issuance, working practice reviews and HMRC intermediary reporting
- GDPR and data protection — acting as DPO, managing DPIAs, data subject rights and breach reporting
- Regulatory oversight across FCA conduct rules, Bribery Act, Modern Slavery and public procurement frameworks (CCS and equivalents)
- Associate and supplier compliance onboarding, vetting and ongoing audit
- Quality assurance framework — internal audits, root cause analysis and accreditation maintenance
- Legal triage and management of external solicitor relationships across commercial, employment and regulatory practice areas
- Day-to-day oversight of the offshore Compliance Manager
What we are looking for:
- 7–10+ years in compliance, risk, governance or contract management ideally in professional services or a consulting environment
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of IR35, GDPR and the UK regulatory landscape for associate-led businesses
- Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, identifying risk and advising senior leaders with confidence
- Comfortable working independently and at pace as this role suits someone who hits the ground running
- Practical, pragmatic and commercially aware: you know when to hold the line and when to find a workable solution
- Experience with public sector procurement frameworks is a plus, not a must
Our values:
- Stand Connected
- Stronger Together
- Say It Straight
- See It Through
- Stay Sharp
