OneAdvanced is a leading AI healthcare software developer with unparalleled scale, supporting 80% of urgent care services and 70% of primary care services in the UK. Our products include Electronic Health Records, Clinical Decisions Support, Workflow Management and Online Consultation, powered by our advanced AI systems, reducing workload on NHS staff and improving clinical safety for patients. Our healthcare AI & Innovation team develops and maintains these AI systems. We are currently conducting the UK's largest ever evaluation of AI in primary care in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the University of Cambridge, funded by NIHR.
We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student with quantitative and programming experience to take part in a paid 3 or 6-month internship. You will gain experience across the entire machine learning lifecycle through developing and improving AI models, leveraging the latest advances in Large Language Models (LLMs), and contributing to making our ML engineering (MLOps) practices more robust. You may also work on data analysis and visualisation. By the end of the internship, you will acquire essential skills for data science and AI with experience solving real-world problems. If you are considering life outside academia or want to develop new skills to apply to your research, this could be the opportunity for you.
You will be a 2nd or 3rd year PhD student in a quantitative subject, or recently completed a PhD in a quantitative subject. Some knowledge of machine learning techniques and Python programming experience is required. Note: Only applicants currently enrolled in a PhD programme (or have completed a PhD) and who have full unsponsored right to work in the UK will be considered.
