As a Graduate Application Engineer, you’ll build and operate customer-facing and internal APIs that power our Core Banking and Product service stacks. You’ll work mainly in TypeScript (Node.js), delivering microservices on our Kubernetes and Serverless platform, and shaping reliable, secure, and observable services for a fast-moving fintech.
You’ll collaborate with engineers across squads to design domain-driven services, evolve our API contracts, and ship features that are safe, testable, and easy to run in production.

What you’ll be doing
- Designing, building, and shipping TypeScript services and serverless functions for our Core Banking and Product domains
- Defining and evolving API contracts, including versioning, pagination, and error models
- Implementing domain logic across payments, accounts, cards, onboarding, and partner integrations
- Deploying services to Kubernetes (EKS) and serverless stacks with CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and automated quality gates
- Building observability patterns (logging, metrics, tracing) to enable fast issue detection and resolution
- Using event-driven patterns
- Writing automated tests and participating in reviews and pairing
- Documenting your services and contributing to our internal knowledge base
- Collaborating closely with the wider Application Engineering team as well as with Platform and Security teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance
What you’ll bring to Suits Me
- Solid TypeScript fundamentals and interest in building backend services
- Understanding of HTTP, REST principles, and common API patterns
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL basics and data modelling
- Exposure to containers/Kubernetes and/or serverless concepts
- Curiosity about AWS managed services and cloud-native design
- A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for automation and continuous improvement
