We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Preconstruction – full‑time permanent, based in Hatfields, Waterloo, London.
Overall Role Objective
The overall role objective of the Pre‑Construction Head is to manage and review all technical documentation prior to tender returns, while ensuring all tenders are submitted within the set deadlines.
What You Will Be Doing
- Review all technical documentation submitted prior to the tender return, in line with tender instructions.
- Prepare technical return documents. The following will be required to accompany all tenders: Tender Programme, organisation chart & labour Histogram.
- Prepare initial project execution plans.
- Prepare initial project safety plan, in conjunction with the Safety Department.
- Prepare Scope of Work for potential Subcontractors.
- Evaluate Subcontractors offers for compliance.
- Prepare Qualifications and assumptions that align with the scope and contractual requirements of the project.
- Oversee the logistics and site establishment during the Pre‑Construction phase of the project.
- Attend and represent in all design and coordination meetings on design & build projects as necessary.
- Maintain an action log for outstanding items and assign responsibility for such action items.
- Assist Project Team in design decisions and development of solutions.
- Manage all aspects of risk and define such for the executive team.
- Act as the team liaison between Operations, Estimating and Design Management.
- Assist in looking for new time saving opportunities that can assist construction with delivering the projects more efficiently.
- Manage and maintain the evaluation schedule for the project.
- Assist in preparation of RFI’s (Request for information).
- Assist in the Pre‑Qualification process.
- Assist in the design of all presentations prior to the next stage of Interviews that the department has been shortlisted to attend.
