Job Type: Full Time / Part Time
Shifts on offer: Waking Nights 21:15 - 06:45 (Set shifts, 2 nights a week). Flexibility on offer depending on availability. Non-Smokers Required.

About the Role: Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for dedicated and compassionate Care Assistants to provide waking night support for our young male service user in the Weymouth area. Our service user is a happy and content teenage boy with complex healthcare needs. We will provide full, specialist training and competency assessment for all clinical procedures. You will play a vital role in supporting him overnight, which includes:
- Tracheostomy Care: Monitoring his airway, performing suction, and managing his emergency equipment.
- Respiratory Support: Delivering nebulisers, monitoring oxygen saturations, and administering oxygen as required.
- Enteral Feeding: Managing his overnight feed and fluids via his gastrostomy (PEG) button.
- Clinical Observations: Monitoring his vital signs, including pulse and oxygen levels, throughout the night.
- Personal Care: Assisting with pad changes and ensuring his comfort and hygiene.
- Safety & Monitoring: Providing close observation, repositioning, and responding to any changes in his condition.
He is non-verbal and communicates through facial expressions, body language, and noises. The ideal candidate will be patient, observant, and take the time to understand his unique ways of communicating. He lives at home with his family, and our team is crucial in providing them with respite and ensuring his safety and wellbeing through the night.
Requirements for the Role:
- A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience is essential.
- Complex Care experience (e.g., tracheostomy, PEG) is beneficial, but not mandatory as full training is provided.
- To provide the correct compliance documents, including updated Right to Work and an original DBS certificate (or application via us).
- Must be reliable, proactive, and able to work independently as part of a dedicated night team.
