About the Role: Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for a Support Worker within the Doncaster area who can support alongside a male service user, who is in his mid‑30s, who has Autism, Schizophrenia and extreme Challenging Behaviours. Our Support Worker roles are considered more of a companionship role by building up key relationships and promoting independence through daily tasks for our service user within her own home, and especially within the community. Our Service User is supported on a 4:1 basis, with activities that will be based around what he enjoys doing, such as going for long drives and walks, bowling and more, but most importantly, suggesting new ideas and opportunities that serve the service user's best interests, by going above and beyond. At times, he will display behaviours that challenge and require staff to support him to self‑regulate. You will need to communicate with him effectively and appropriately. You will also be given the opportunity to build a positive relationship with the Service User and their family.
Who We're Looking For: We're looking for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high‑quality care. Ideally, you will have:
- A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience.
- Experience with Autism and Challenging Behaviour.
- Provide correct compliance documents, updated right to work and original DBS certificate.
- Able to attend Safety Intervention training, which is provided by Sugarman Health and Wellbeing.
