About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Female Registered Nurse to support a young woman with complex clinical needs and multiple comorbidities in her home in Kettering. The service user lives with a range of challenging conditions including Brittle Diabetes, Addison's Disease, and End‑Stage Renal Failure. Due to a poor prognosis and the nature of her health, she experiences significant anxiety and struggles with her mental health. We are looking for a long‑term candidate who is not only clinically confident but also warm, patient, and empathetic, offering a supportive, almost maternal approach to help manage her emotional wellbeing.
Key Clinical Responsibilities
- Type 1 Brittle Diabetes, including Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) prevention and neuropathy care.
- Managing End‑Stage Kidney Disease, including care for an Arteriovenous Fistula and monitoring intermittent hemodialysis.
- Managing Addison's Disease and being vigilant for Addisonian Crises.
- Managing Gastroparesis and implementing daily bowel care protocols for slow transit constipation.
- Providing extremely gentle care due to avascular bone necrosis and brittle bones (high fracture risk).
- Providing emotional reassurance and support for depression and anxiety related to her health journey.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of professional UK care experience.
- Valid Nursing degree/diploma and active NMC Pin.
- Up‑to‑date Immunisation records and a full work history on your CV.
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
- An original Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
